Members have use of the association's honey extracting equipment, as available. Call ahead to reserve:Petaluma - Ettamarie Peterson 765-4582; Santa Rosa - Janet Leisen 707- 528-2085 and Sebastopol - Patrick Laherty 707-829-9208. Honey dippers

Our association has an active mentorship program where we match new beekeepers with experienced ones in their region for advice, instruction and general support.

SCBA provides an Emergency Swarm List (contact information for members who will collect or extract swarms) to local and regional - cities and county business' and government agencies. Collecting swarms is a great way to populate your apairy if you are a beekeeper or interested in becoming one. You must be a member to get placed on the SCBA Swarm List and have some experience in collecting swarms, please fill out the Swarm List portion of the application if you want to be on the list.

All members receive an online monthly newsletter via email, The Extractor which includes minutes from the previous meeting, interesting articles about bees and beekeeping, along with "What to do this month", a column by Serge Labesque containing instructions about caring for your bees in Sonoma County. Members are also able to post want ads in the newsletter at no cost.

SCBA monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, at 7 pm. Our meetings cover a wide range of topics of interest to beekeepers and anyone wanting to learn about honeybees. You do not need to be a member nor a beekeeper to attend.
